Yes, you are absolutely correct!
Sometimes what’s in my head does not translate into what I write.
Well, the colours are applied, the paintcorrections have been done.
I also added the decals; Mig for the Spaniard and Echelon for the Fin. Loved the quality of those!!
Next stage; weathering… allthough I already made a bit of a false start on the Spaniard’s turret.
And then, all of a sudden… they’re done!
This fase always catches me off guard.
The postcard behind the Fin is a fieldpost card with Finnish text on both front and back, used and posted in 1943.
Weathering on the Spanish Model 1933 has been kept light; a dark wash around the running gear, a lighter neutral grey wash on the hull and turret with a light dusting of pastelpowders over it all. Rust on the exhaust is more of a surface rust, due to the dry Snapish air in summer.
I added a homemade, clear lense to the headlight.
The Finnish Model 1938 got a dark forest earth/mud layer over the tracks in order to somewhat conceal the horrendous quality of those.
I covered them in plaster, used copious amounts of dark brown oilpaint, touched that up wish another shade of brown wash and added blotches of satin varnish to suggest damp soil.
Weathering was kept light on this build as well. The rust on the exhaust is darker and more severe then on the Spanish version, due to differeing climatic circumstances.
