Sprue Holder

I was at Hobby Lobby the other day and saw they were selling two types of sprue holders. Being a new shinny tool I bought one of each. of the two the one below was the best. The area for the sprue was wider and accommodated sprues with larger parts better. Comes with space for 10 sprues so I bought a second. I give this a “recommended”. They have joiners on the ends to mate two together.

I’ve noticed they are adding a lot of knock-offs of many new tools on the market which shows they do pay some attention to the modeling sector. Some of them could be better quality but you think these are adequate to the purpose for the price point and all that good stuff?

I’d like it if they sold a paint jar like the one Tamiya sells with the ml levels marked as I have trouble finding those at the few LHS’s in my area and shipping makes them expensive unless you buy them by the dozen. Nice glass with a metal top; no plastic that wears and eventually leaks.

The plastic and molding will last as long as you are modeling baring you using a hammer on it. The holder has enough weight to hold the sprues without tipping. If you didn’t need a second full size one, you could cut the second holder into a section of 3 and 6 sections that you could just add to as needed. The price at $8.00 is a fair price.
