Stryker ID help

Would anyone know what the cylinder is for on the rear of this Stryker? Also what version of the M1126 is it?

I have these Stryker kits and none of them include that cylinder.

It’s part of the tire fire suppression system.
You’ll have to get some of Ettore Gelasso’s parts to make that version.

@18bravo @eddiem54 Thank you!

The AFV M1126 8X8 ICV and Trumpeter M1132 kits I got a few years ago and both actually came with the Eduard PE blast panels and additional armor as shown in the OP image above.

Can the kits I have above be made into the one with the TFSS?

I went to the Real Model page and not a lot of info about the TFSS. I can’t find any info either on Google search. The cylinders are included in resin?

The modern Stryker’s are quite different than the AFV kits? It seems like this vehicle has had alot of upgrades in it’s life.

The DVH versions are the most “modern” derivative. OG Strykers can be upgraded but receive a completely different designation than the original. I gave Ettore my extensive collection of DVH photos, and he upgraded his set, which I’ve posted teaser photos of. Some 3D guys respond well to my suggestions, others don’t. The DVH platform requires several upgrades - powerpack, (can’t use the excellent Legend one any more, although a new one could make an appearance at some point) electrical power, resultant changes in engine deck, chassis and powertrain upgrades, reshaped fuel tanks (quick ID reference) and reshaped lower frontal armor, nose armor, and tow points.

I think one could make the argument that a totally new kit could be made of it? A 2025 version?

One could argue that one is in the works.

So the one in the first image has the fuel tanks curved at the wheel well. This is a newer version DVH as you mentioned?

This one is one of the older ones. The fuel tanks at the wheel well is squared off.

The one in my original post with the TFSS has the fuel tanks squared off so it would be an older one.

The curved ones are the newer ones.

I would like to give a shout out to Rob (18bravo) for sharing his Stryker walk around images with me. Thanks and greatly appreciated!
