On Warwheels, we’ve added photos of the new Stryker MCWS (Medium Caliber Weapon System) Vehicle via Oshkosh Defense. To see the pics, you’ll need to scroll down a bit on the main Stryker Vehicle Listing here: WarWheels.Net- Stryker IAV Index .
That seems kind of redundant to me! Isn’t that the same thing as the Stryker Dragoon? It has the 30mm turret too.
Actually, the new MCWS turret weighs less and is thusly able to be mounted on the Stryker Double V Hull. The Dragoon turret is too heavy for that hull and can only be mounted on the less protected flat bottom hull.
Makes sense…that is IF the US Army decides to purchase the MCSW for the “Double V Hull Strykers.”
Then again, competition is such that there might be other contenders out there such as Cockerill 3030 CRADA. Thus, another “Shoot-off” is required for the “Double V-Hull” 30mm RWS.
