And still, if this would be a tank, then most probably the maker had presented it on a faboulous diorama, or at least on a decent plate?
Us, airplane builders, we just present our model on an old card board box

Interested to know how the filter works. Did you airbrush or brush on certain panels or go over the whole aircraft?
I used a brush, all over the aircraft.
The Panel liner I didn’t use on all of the panels, to create some contrast between the panels.

Is that the general way to use filters? I’ve got a couple of small bottles of Migs filters but I was never sure on how they’re applied.
I’ve always used them like this.
Sometimes you might add some thinner to dilute them even more.
Test it on some old spare part box, paint it with the same color you use on your kit.
I advise you to give a clear coat first on your model, I had some issues in the past with some filters damaging the acrylic paint despite being enamel filters.

Well, I’m normally a 1/35 AFV modeller (though with soft skins and endless figures thrown in) but it doesn’t take much to portray an aircraft half-decently I feel (IMHO!); even a little bit of work - and in this one there really wasn’t much, and the model is sort of set in context as it were:
I’ve done more or less the same with a figure and a few fuel drums on a WW2 aircraft. I must just stress that these are in 1/72:
I appreciate you guys are working in 1/48 but it might give you a few ideas.
On a separate note I love following these builds of, almost the not so common aircraft of the Warsaw Pact; these were from the 60s and I remember as a child thumbing through my 1964 Observer’s Book of Aircraft just marvelling at the pics, including the often grainy ones of mysterious Soviet aircraft. Fast forward a bit to the 70s, and the radio messages being passed to the various HQs I served in, redolent with those NATO identifying names: Fresco, Fishpot, Fitter, Flashlight, Brewer and so on.
In addition to the almost unwieldy stash of 1/35 armour, I still have a hankering to build these Sov aircraft models in 1/72, so the builds here, albeit in 1/48, are both an inspiration and a help.

Great work; I am sure you’ll have yours completed way before mine! I sort of dabble whenever I get bogged down in 1/35, and then of course, it becomes mainstream and nothing gets completed(!)
I don’t know.. these kits take a lot of time … we’ll see how they go.
