Been looking at the current “Made in the USSR” campaign and being late to enter this tank, I still wanted to share a few pics of my Takom Objekt 279 I built a few years back.
Kit is out of the box minus the gun barrel, which I think was an RB one. Overall I enjoyed building it. The tracks were a slight pain but the rest went together with minimal fuss. Would recommend the newer release with the workable ones. Camo was based on the Kubinka 279, which at some point wore the three tone but I’m I believe is back to green or it was a different one.
So for fans of this weird Soviet Cold War proto, here’s my go at it.

Nice work, especially the camo. We had a green one at our AMPS show last month: builder said it was a good build.
I think the name for this within NATO is “Dangerous Platypus”!

My pleasure;
I think it’s just great that museums are bothering restoring some of this stuff; I mean, Bovington has repaired the Tortoise, and the FV 4005. Fantastic to see these in working order.

Thank you! I think Platypus would be a fitting name. Ugly yet interesting.
