Takom T-55A track issues

Has anyone else put together takoms T-55A kit No 2056. I’m currently trying to do the tracks but they don’t seem to want to connect and when i do connect them they want to squirt out of the seeding. What am i doing wrong?

What are you connecting them with? Model glue, cyano, staples?

@loncray just model glue but even before i get to that part they won’t seed correctly and pop out

I don’t understand the words ‘seed’ and ‘seeding’ - do you mean the parts aren’t seating with one another? Have you cleaned off any nubs of plastic from the sprues they were connected with? Are the tracks the same sort of styrene as the rest of the model?

@loncray yes thats what i mean. They appear to fit then pop out as soon as i release the pressure. I’ve done some cleaning which at times has helped. It doesn’t appear to be the left over styrene causing the issue, almost as if they track was molded to tight and has to have each individual piece be adjusted.

IF you are gluing them solid you may want to consider using a solvent based cement.
Tamiya Extra Thin for instance, it softens the styrene in the joint so that tight fits
get “adjusted” when the softened styrene is squeezed away

@Uncle-Heavy i have some tamiya extra thin glue so i will try that next. Almost tempted to get fruil tracks

The trick with indy-link “workable” styrene tracks is to forget about the “workable” feature
and just glue them solid.

I had built their Type 69. The tracks have to be glued. Have you painted the links before connecting them?

@MassimoTessitori no i haven’t painted them yet.
@Uncle-Heavy yeah they are not work able at all at this point. If they seat right I’ll be happy
