Didn’t see that coming. Very nice model and the figures look great too.

Another Tamiya surprise. I’m getting it. :slightly_smiling_face:

Is it really new or rebox of he ancient Italeri kit?

Er, happy to be proved wrong but I don’t think Italeri ever did this one. They did a Pak 40 but not the 50mm jobby.

On a slightly separate note along time ago I did this in 1/76 - using a white metal kit from a now defunct firm, called something like “MMS Models”; they did some great stuff in that scale and I wish, belatedly, that they were still around. Anyway, for what it’s worth, I portrayed it alongside some Matchbox T-34s - and a dead crew(!)

Kit number starts with 35. Means it is really Tamiya.

Absolute brand new all Tamiya kit. According to the Tamiya rep at the Nats, it won’t be released until late in the year, but they let Squadron bring some to sell at the Nats.

Well that passed me by for sure Timothy. Everyday a school day!

I’ve never seen one made up, or indeed, on the display tables, not admittedly, that I normally go hunting for WW2 stuff.

I wonder how it compares? Italeri stuff is normally quite good.

Had both. They “are”. 70s - 80s quality. (despite actual age) Figures made 60s Tamiya look like resin ones. Lot of Tamiya kits are reboxes of old Italeri kits (Sd Kfz 243 series are 1980(?) Italeri. The Italian staff car is old Italeri.)

If you are referring to the 508 CM Coloniale staff car, I don’t think I would consider that “old” Italeri; it was released in 2012 so is one of the newer kits in comparison to the 234 series (early 80s). Most of the kits that Tamiya has re-boxed (other then the 234) are newer Italeri kits produced between 2000 and 2020 - Coloniale, Sdkfz 231, L6/40, Semovente M42 da 75/34, etc.

I seem to remember the italian tanks at least , in the 70s. Might be confusing the Coloniale with the Horch… (1973) M13/40 was from 73. that was originally Italieri. Same for the Semovente 40/75-18

Tamiya never re-boxed the Italeri M13/40 and or Semovente 40/75-18, since they had their own kits of these in their catalogue.

Tamiya always puts the Italeri or any other companies’ logo on their reboxes.

Very nice! A brand new Pak 38 kit and crew form Tamiya. I’ll pick on up.

I really enjoyed building their Pak 40 that came with the new Marder I kit as well as their new machine gun team with the new laffette tripod and crew.

Like all Tamiya 1:35, the crew are sure to be smaller than most others on the market. It’s not a problem if you build along with other Tamiya elements but scratch/bashing can get tricky.

I’m still hoping for Tamiya to do the Panzerjeager Selbstfahrlaffette Somua MCG S307(f) 7.5cm. I think they’re the perfect company to do it in plastic.

Just a few days ago I was hoping that someday Tamiya would do a PaK38! I had no idea this was coming out.

I wonder if Tamiya will release new versions of some vehicles that towed these guns.

It’s a nice and logical idea but I don’t think Tamiya work like that :slightly_frowning_face:
