On that note, shall update to my formal 1930’s avatar…
…but will skip the dancing…the cigar will hopefully make up for it.
Indeed, a rerun of the 1930’s…you’d think we (humanity) would have learned our lessons last time around.

Yep, those who fail to learn the lessons from History are condemned to repeat them, or something like that.
As a formally trained historian I discount the history repeating itself idea. It’s not history that repeats but the weakness of humans, greed, abuse of power, disregard for the public interest, the strong preying on the weak, etc, etc.
Which, is our history.

Same basic plot. Just a change in the settings and the actors. Human nature has not changed in 5000 years of recorded human history nor will it change.
Wrapped the tracks today.
Hope to install Aber main gun tomorrow, wash & dry so the base coat can be sprayed on Friday.
If the missing hatch half on the Centaur isn’t to hard too scratch, it will tag along for finishing as well.
Off the back burner today back on the workbench today.
Aber’s barrel wasn’t up to the normal Aber standards due to a nasty burr on one part.
Simple enough to fix but annoying none the less.
An opportunity to use the new conical file!
First pass almost fixed issue, note witness mark on barrel.
Overall, Aber barrel is excellent!
To the paint both with a friendemy!
Mr.Surfacer 1500 Black, Tamiya Buff highlights.
Color coat, MRP - Mr Paint SCC #15, built up in thin layers.
…and into the food dehydrator for 10 hours at 104 F
Ahhh nobody expects the Conical File. Beautiful pre-shading Wade, looks perfect

Food dryer? That sounds harsh! I just put it aside to dry overnight…
@barkingdigger Tom,
It’s been very humid here…
…I like the nuclear option ![]()
@Dioramartin Tim, thank you! Too funny!.
The conical file is eyes only top secret. Just tool for circular parts!
@mech Ralph, thank you!
It’s looking good.
Wow - is your town twinned with Atlantis? I’d start building ship models…
Hi, Cullin cutter was only a one-off trial fitted in UK, too late to see action after Normandy, so was cancelled.
@ANDREWTOMLINSON Hi Andrew, thank you for rhe information!
Is this the Cullin cutter?
I’m not up so speed on WW2 Allied armor obviously.
@mech Ralph, much appreciated!
@barkingdigger Tom,
there’s a few ships in the hobby room might be time for one!
Worked on the Cromwell’s brother today, a bargin bin Tamiya Centaur…
…tomorrow the Cromwell will be back on the work bench.
Hi, yes that’s it. Sadly not used. Andrew
FTFY.
Yet roughly 73.81% of everybody who builds a Cromwell kit that includes one, sticks it to the tank
(I’m guilty of that myself, my excuse being that of the majority who fit it: I didn’t know any better
)
Thanks to the food dehydrator was able to apply a round of oil wash today and drybrush. Will continue after another 10 hours in the dehydrator.
After a good day of hobby time, Kali-Katt & I grilled one of her favorites…chicken ![]()
She’s also an honorary grillmaster…
That is a very dynamic paint job Wade. The tonal variations look excellent. Really fantastic shading.
Looking awesome Wade. ![]()
