Matt & Ryan, thank you!
The MRP SCC#15 is factory thinned for airbrushing but it was cut 1 to 1 with MCLT this time. I liked being able to more slowly build up color coat etc.
With the short pin wires holding the narrow Cromwell Fruil together, I didn’t clean them as aggressively as normal. Had to applly burnishing fluid twice and still need airbrushed touch ups.
@Damraska , thought you’d find the following amusing…
Thought my Neoeco airbrush had been cleaned throughly…so imagine my surprise when going to mist Tamiya Lacquer Dark Iron on the tracks and the paint did this in the color cup…
…very happy I had gloves as nearly all of the paint in the color erupted from the color cup…of course I NEVER cap the color cup. Never had that happen before, have seen an air bubble
in the Iwata before but never a paint geyser! The VL hasn’t done that either in ~30 years on the bench.
Always a first time for everything!
Torn the Neoeco down, needle was stuck. The Mr Hobby Tool Clean may be a little too hot for the seals as a bit of something (rubber o-ring?) not paint was on the needle when it came free.
Cleaned the Neoeco with lacquer thinner and it was back to working fine. Then I knocked the bottle of Tamiya Dark Iron off the bench and painted…the carpet randomly ![]()
Anyway…I also managed to knock the Paasche VL off of the airbrush stand…twice. I think the whole airbrush side of the hobby room needs a major revamp soon as space is too tight.
