I am almost done with my Tamiya T-72M1… I know its not a particularly accurate kit but a good one to build regardless for my project needs (Czech version). While building the DSHK, adding Eduard PE, I noticed the instructions have you put the ammo box on the right side but all my reference shows the T-72 DSHK having the ammo box on the left side (as pictured). Is Tamiya wrong or is there version based on another type of DSHK? I could not find any Tamiya Errors related to MG in a quick search… it would be an easy fix - just checking in advance.

You’ve got your MGs mixed up; the T-72 sports the NSVT not the DShk. I haven’t my usual refs to hand but have a quick Google or similar.

Could it be possible to feed it from both sides?
This Iraqi NSVT seems to be assembled according to Tamiyas instructions

OK, that makes sense… I didn’t think Taiya would make such a mistake. I am building the Czech version so I think that the Tamiya will be OK as well then… I already used the PE for it and don’t want to start over LOL. Thanks for the quick reply.

Thank Brian, he set me on the correct trail and the rest was Google-Fu

Looks like the NSVT was “standard” on the T-72 family… thanks for the info. Tamiya instructions even list the MG as the NSVT
