That looks really sharp!!
Cheers Bucco, it is a bit rough and ready on some panels, but I will be doing a very in depth clean up along all the lines in camouflage grey at the end.
And the decals will cover some areas.
The colouring to be honest is a bit of artistic licence as the instructions are very vague with no actual references, just light grey , medium or dark and then light mixed with dark etc … So I just went with what I thought looked good.
Great paint work John. That is a real eye catching scheme.
Only doing one darker tone on the underside now. And that’s done.
Using the same dark grey (Tamiya xf24) on the nacelle side sections and the nacelle wing areas.
One area I was trying to fix was the very small gap between the end of the blue part and the grey nacelle face, same gap is on the other one and the rear part fits fine, I might try some plastic strip or cut sections from a clear sprue and join that to the blue and paint it up…it catches my eye every time …
Started with the Tamiya Kure Arsenal on the upper saucer section.
Same process as before, slap it on and tidy it up after
Making some slow progress…I am having to work from my kitchen, as I have a new puppy…
and there is too much in my hobby room for him to chew on…got the interior ready for the new chairs.
…I also primered the interior white…then put on the masks and paint the interior color…then the decals…hopefully tomorrow.
Funny thing is as I am building it, I realize there is no way for the pilots to get to the cockpit without climbing over the middle console…with the original seats also…woops!
All the main painting is now done. Still need to paint the 2 red things on the rear of the saucer section.
Now there is a lot of Camouflage Grey to be retouched… This may take a while lol
Once that biblical task is done …it’s decal time
Absolutely beautiful paint job!!
Ok, that furball is far to cute … What handsome dude … Or dudette ?
Nice progress with the Raptor… Those ejector seats look very good in it… That was a good shout
Boy…he is a mini Goldendoodle…should be around 25 lbs grown.
Very nice …
She is looking great.
Cheers buddy… It’s taken a while but for the price it’s a decent kit. If I had more knowledge of it I could of done a better job but I’m pretty happy with it
Forgot to post the picture of the EWO seat…I think it makes a big improvment to kit, along with the pilot chairs.
100%… Makes it look a lot more real …that was a good idea about that and the ejector seats
Thanks, I tried to find seats that looked functional, but not to earthy.
Started the onerous task of retouching the Camouflage Grey… All over …
So far have done the nacelles and the wing struts, the upper and lower rear section of the hull (thin tapered back end) and the complete port side, that’s the section dividers between all the darker grey panels.
Will continue with the lower section of the saucer and starboard side tomorrow.
Done most of the camouflage grey repainting in between the med grey section panels.
Have now started doing the phaser array section on the upper saucer, and the red squares to the rear of the saucer
The very light grey areas are where the decals will eventually go.
There will still be some detail painting to do.
Started the phaser array on the lower saucer section…
Still a couple of areas that need dark grey sections painting in.
Hopefully will get this finished over the weekend.
An epic effort on the paint work John.
I thought masking the K’Tinga was a PITA. This looks like it could hold three servings of filling.
