The Last Patch I Needed to Earn

Who’s taking the picture?

One of the SO’s. My wife could not make it, but that’s my daughter to my left. One in 1 million chance she happened to be at Red Lodge Montana 20 miles away doing a glacier study for her PhD. I was very proud that she could be there but more so because this 21-year-old girl could hold down meaningful conversations with grizzled old Green Berets. They were all quite impressed with her. The guy in front of her was a tunnel rat in Vietnam you can sort of see why. Some of the other guys in the photo I served with Iraq and Afghanistan, even with SOCKOR in Korea.

Great pic Robert.
What does it take to earn that badge, or is it a secret?

With any MC, you have to Prospect for a length of time to patch in. Each club is different and has their own guidelines for becoming a full patch member. But generally, it does take over a year. For this MC of course you have to be Special Forces qualified so I would say that it’s probably one of the more exclusive MC’s you’ll find on the planet.

I notice that being a member caused excessive facial hair, graying and some sort of arthritic middle finger syndrome.

Looks like you run the gamut; Vietnam, Grenada, Panama, ODS, Iraqi Kurdistan, Somalia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Afghanistan, Iraq, probably Syria too.
