The M2 OG Bradley

What an amazing thread!
Even though I already did an IFOR Bradley, I still want to do an M2 REFORGER one.

Thanks for posting. If I were pressed for time, I’d certainly entertain using it, As it is, it’s not too difficult to modify. Pics later.

Jacques’ current (and future) printed parts will make that a breeze. I could probably sacrifice a hull if anyone wants to redo the front bogies - I can get several new pairs from each hull bottom.

The shell ejection port isn’t difficult. You don’t even have to drill it first. In fact, I find it easier to drill it afterwards. Comparing the Tamiya/Academy piece to the above photo, they did get all of the bolt detail correct, and in scale no less, but often after painting the only way to see it will be by dry brushing them, There is a weld missing where the barrel shroud begins to taper. I usually use motor armature wire for that.

Back to the side racks - looking at the above photo from a few days ago, and this one:

One thing is clear. Of the three different sizes, including the Tamiya part, only one can be correct:

It turns out it’s (not surprisingly) the Tamiya part.
Nothing wrong with using it, with modification, except that I want empty racks.
This is the mod - remove the portion inside the oval, and simply replace with a flat piece of .010 styrene.

Obviously 3D printed parts will be available at some point.

Anyone want to tackle the armored boxes that cover the gun ports?

Hello everyone,
I designed the mentioned Ammo-storage for the back and side of the turret (with and without Ammo boxes).
I identified two different types for the side storage.

The prototypes fit well to the Academy/ Tamiya kit. I will soon be posting pictures of the Resin printed mount.

Kind regards
Lukas

Hello,
as promised, here are my first prints. They are not completely cleaned up yet but the fit perfectly to the Tamiya/Academy sides.
I also printed empty and loaded storages for the turret’s back.

Best regards
Lukas

I posted a link to this thread in a new, similar thread. Sionce that time I’ve driven to Ft. Benning, and photographed and measured the hell out two OG Bradleys they had there. I’ve sent Jacques Duquette my findings, and am hoping he’ll have time to design some of those swimm barrier fittings I had to do from scratch. It’ll make things easier for everyone else.

I saw those exact dots in Joanne’s Fabric the other day. Their going out of business sale will probably extend through May. And I discovered they do indeed sell models there. Found a couple of 1/48 Atlantis Fuel Tankers there!

Edited to reflect May rather than March.

I am working on the OG Bradley, it is just slow with so many demands on my time lately. I hope to get free design time sometime in April…my weekends are all booked up right now.

Companies like Magic Factory are including 3D printed parts in their kits. If I had your skills, I’d talk with Tamiya about repopping the OG kit with all of your parts in it. I have contacts…
