Francois, here are some older 1/35 heads I did. By all means, buy the best paints you can afford..you will see a huge difference in your work. I usually only use a 01 or 001 pointed brush for my work. If you have noticed in some of the videos you have watched, a lot of the guys left thumb, for right handed people, have little paint marks all over it. For me, it helps with the consistency of the paint and as an added bonus, lets me see how close I am to having the “right” color. Old ways die hard and I still like the results I get using oils for flesh tones. I have switched entirely to acrylics for uniforms.

This is my current project, my first diorama in about 40 years. To top it off, I hate how a phone camera picks up EVERYTHING, including stuff you can’t see with the naked eye.

Very useful advice, Jeff. Thanks for that. The faces on your pictures look great, and I hope I’ll reach something similar before long. Good paint should help, but also good figures (just bought some good resin heads to work on it).
