Its amazing that figure makers cant do it right with those ammo pouches. Ammo pouches were attached to the y-strap from the center of the middlest pouch, not anywhere else.

Y straps were not normally worn during the Polish campaign. Maybe cavalrymen wore them (they were originally designed for cavalry).
