I finally managed to finish my 1:35 Border Nakajima B5N “Kate”. It took me more than a fight to complete. As the fit of the cockpit floor is not positive (no clear mounting points) I managed to glue it too high in the fuselage. The problem is that I didn’t notice it untill both halves were together and I wanted to glue on the top part. It simply didn’t fit anymore. With quite some force, puty and paint I managed to get them together, but the careful observer will notice the hump on one side of the fuselage.
Also challenging is the lack of colo(u) call outs, leaving some parts open for a guess (like the bar holding up the wing, or the inside of the wheel wells, the arrestor hook and its well).
Yet I persevered and call the plane ready. The Agaki tower and deck, together with the figs I have, will be assembled in due time, when space permits…

@bwilt beautiful work on the Lynx. The dayglo torpedoes really do stand out and add a nice bit of colour. I might have missed it, but were the rotor tie-downs scratch built or aftermarket parts?
@golikell excellent work on the Kate. I have noticed that some colour call outs on some kits can be a bit lacking. I’m no expert, but it all looks spot on to me. Makes me want to do that Airfix Kate I’ve had sitting around for years!

Thanks Stephen. Except for the overall picture, no individual part has any color indication at all!
And, since there is no original plane left, it is all a matter of second guessing and guestimations what it should look like…
Except for the torpedo. Although the extentios of the fina are made of wood (and some people paint them as such) there are photos that clearly show that they were painted in a bright metal, much brighter than the body.

I do have a plan to include both a torpedo and a bomb cart added. I did find a 3D file for the torpedo cart but the bomb cart needs to be drawn by someone, as I don’t have the skills to do so.
