Danke Jesper! I managed to swap the upper and lower panel (due to the instructions), so I had to recreate the holes for the aiming device (a fragile PE part).

Meanwhile Airfix’s Swordfish putters along… Not much to show, just been prepping parts mainly for paint, but this I thought was worth showing… Comparison on the flare? launchers in the kit versus the PE in the WEM set… Big difference in detail and finesse… but I did leave the impossible strap off the top-what is it with AM manufacturers that don’t leave clearance on the fitment holes? SMH!

burnt umber oil wash and chipped. i used ak silver oil brusher for the chipping. dabbed some on a plate and used a short flat stiff brush to give the wing root area a worn paint look and some different brushes and a piece of sponge looking foam to chip the body. let it sit a day and the silver was still wet. i dull coated it and sealed everything.

The attachment points are quite clear: holes in the cylinder heads and dimples in the harnessing.

Not too bad once I found a good method. I have a small file with a trianglular cross-section. That worked best! Not perfect, but better than the flat seam I had after sanding the ill-fitting wing seams.

Painted the matt black walk-ways first.
Masked the walk-ways then before painting all the bright colors I did a layer of Tamiya white.
Painted the red tail first. Then masking and painting the yellow wings.
Then white base coat before the blue.
And the blue.
The masking held up much better than I expected. Broke the horizontal stabilizer when removing the masking.
Then a quick coat for floor polish gloss. After drying for a few days, finished the decals today.

Been a while but got some work done on my Hunley project. Got some painting and weathering done. Going to add more rust here and there and tone down some of the rust I already did. Should be all wrapped up in the next few days.

With triple-digit F° heat & humility, I haven’t been very motivated to sit at my workbench lately. … When I had a short spark of energy the other day, I got to it and sprayed the under-belly of the Ju 88A-4.
Since I was spraying over Tamiya Grey Primer, it was hard to tell if I was getting any coverage. After a couple of days curing, and depending on the light (and my mood), I think it looks sorta’ like RLM65.
