Tamiya Steyr is nearly done; in subassemblies right now about to be primed. Loosely stacked together at the moment so I can get access to everything for painting. Doors and seats are piled in a cup.

That is a whole lotta Muv…..

Well I have finally started mine. I needed a break from the VT 1-2 I am doing…. Bending wires for hydraulic lines was doing my head in.

My choice and where I am at:

I bought this kit second hand with a lot of extra’s thrown in, such as the ET Etch, Legends update and DEF wheels. However, I have now determined that the etch is for a different version Bronco M1114 kit (35080) not mine (35092) and most of it can’t be used, so I’ll not be using any of it. Maybe I’ll get the other kit down the track of sell the etch…

The DEF wheels have a B marking on two resin pour stubs, and the other two are smooth. However, the tread pattern on all four run the same way, so they are not ‘handed’. The Bronco ones for all their kits are ‘handed’ with both sides showing an ‘M’ pattern when viewed from the front:

But, this following pic, which could be the one Bronco based their HA kit on, clearly shows the tyre fitted on the rim the same way on both wheels, so the left has a ‘W’ pattern not the ‘M’ as per the kit, when viewed from the front:

Then this pic shows the opposite, M on the left and W on the right:

I don’t know what is supposed to be ‘technical manual’ correct, but there is enough evidence to let me run with the DEF wheels on my build.

I am starting to assemble the Steyr. The body is not yet attached to the frame, nor is the folded top attached to the rear end; waiting on the seats to finish drying. This one is nearly done as far as the car goes, but I am trying to at least get the driver done as well as a base.

Basic Black - everyone’s favourite Bert

Steyr is looking sweet Pez. The leather is really well represented here.

Okay, started the body of the HMMVW. I hit a snag test fitting the roof part - it was badly warped and very noticeably banana shaped over all. I spent some time gently bending the plastic in places to correct the worst of it, bar the rear frame panel:

With some care, and with the inner ceiling parts, vents, etc, added, I am hoping it will all fit correctly in the end. I have now progresses a little further with the body:
