Started these three kits, 2 of them will be for the tough MUVVER campaign, the Tamiya version will be build for the Tamiya campaign.
And first bits of the Tamiya are glued…

An interesting choice. I built all three (Dumvee USA, Dumvee New Zealand and Danish Julkaat)
). Which model are you planning to convert? With the American Dumvee, be careful – there is too much equipment and goods. It is better to use less than to force everything in. There is a problem with attaching the C-pillar to the rear edge of the roof.

Thanks, I will probably use all three sets to convert all three of them, might end up doing a mix and match… so don’t expect 3 historically correct vehicles

The Academy kit I had, has a real problem; the top is too small! It does not cover the entire length from window to boot. Also the doorpairs leave a 1mm gap between their top and the cover.

I am building this kit (M1025 Academy) and I also have an issue with the top part which has a more little width, around 1,5mm. I will try to use the Tamiya top part instead of.

Thanks for the warning! But as you can see there are 2 bags with conversions that have a different top in it, will probably do a bit of mixing of tops to get the Academy version closed up.

Interior mostly painted and highlight/chipping applied. My reference shows that despite the hardness of CARC paints the high wear areas still show a decent amount of chipping. I have a bakers dozen models to gloss coat so that will be the next step before a wash and dirt effects

A damaged M1152 with a ZU23-2 cannon. The base for the build will be the Academy M1151. I will use 3D printed conversion parts and DEF Model wheels. Additionally, photo-etched chassis armour parts, air conditioners in the rear wheel wells, and a Black Models resin engine. Trumpeter cannon.

Pig nr.2 is considered done. And a pig of a kit it was! I am not pleased with this one, really.
Fit and detail was not great at all, the MP-decals absorbed the grey wash and the AK-paint was prone to coming off during handling. No idea why? Was it the paint or the plastic?
What did I add: tactical tape to the lights, since these looked bad. I also added a bent antennabase from Djiti Models. Antenna and retaining rope are steel and copper wire. The tiedown strap is maskingtape and the camouflagenet is homemade with coloured bandage gauze and oregane + foilage from railwayscenery. The mud is a mix of gras, leaves, soil and paint.

Somehow, it has become customary on modelling forums (and elsewhere) for everyone to praise everyone else. This only serves to harm the author of the model. They assume that it is acceptable and that it does not contribute to the improvement of their skills. In my opinion – and I write this without any malicious criticism – the model looks poor. First of all, because of the mud, which you failed to make. We all started with poor models, and we all have better, worse and sometimes outstanding ones. In my opinion, you need to start with correct, clean gluing of the model and clean painting. Later, you can learn other techniques – damage, signs of wear and tear, dirt and dust, the effect of faded paint, and elements such as snow, mud, and rain-wet surfaces. Take it slowly, try it yourself, watch others, ask questions, experiment. Good luck!

Agreed, it does not look good.
Because of the issues mentioned I lost heart for this one and started using it as a testbed and pushed to finish it, before smashing it into a wall. The only thing I am somewhat pleased with is the camouflagenet.

Started on the versions I will make for this campaign, and Ron thought his kit was bad… I buy a lot of stuff second hand, like this Revell one that came with a BlackDog set.. old, brittle, bended resin…

I’ve been trying to work up the courage or have some help in designing the RDS that mounts to the back of a truck for the Talon.
