That is correct, but it was still not officially authorized after a certain time (no idea when), They were found to be cracking the frames and no longer officially allowed. That doesn’t mean it wasn’t done though.

I wouldn’t use a model as a reference though. Tamiya has gotten a lot wrong over the years.
