I don’t think it’s really all that bad. I’ve got pretty much every p/e set for it, an RB barrel which has a nice bit of sag in the concertina section, a set of Bronco track + some decals to do either a Gulf or Kosovo/Bosnia vehicle

I could see the build time and alcohol intake being related, but perhaps in the opposite direction than you imagine.

Small amounts of alcohol dampens the nerve signal jitter and thus gives you steadier hands. Too much alcohol ruins the precision so it is a matter of finding the correct level.
Beer is considered an illegal doping substance in precision shooting contests,
a Swedish pistol shooter used this to his advantage before it became forbidden.
