I’ve been working on the prototype JS-5 too.
Gave a light wash on top & lower hull. Added the wheels.
Just need to finish up the tracks

But, are the tracks workable? Are they from Trumpeter’s kit?

They are from Trumpeter’s kit yes.
Single link tracks,they need to be cleaned up but they fit quite well.

Some links are, but most of them no.
They fit quite well, but some required a little drop of glue
Back to the JS-5, hull…done.Turret…done.
This being a prototype, only 2 or 3 were made, no dirt,no mud,no barracks, no training… So I guess this one is finished !!!

It’s a nice kit from Trumpeter, easy to build.
Since it’s a prototype there aren’t many markings or painting schemes.
I recommend it if you like Cold War tanks this one fits in perfectly.
