You didn’t mention that the European Front version only has the convertible top in the deployed position; you don’t get a folded top. Just so people know you only get the one. Also, the speedometer is present on the Korps version – decal #16.
I also have the Meng Type 823 which is the same for the most part other than having a turret rather than a convertible top but it did have the decal for the speedometer.

These were such a disappointment after a fair bit of expectation prior to the releases. On the whole they are not much of an improvement, if at all, on the later Tamiya VW Kübelwagen version/s. Meng also made some really curious choices like the rounded rear panel of the side windows which was not used on 95% of vehicles. The canopy is mandatory as brekinapez has described but there is no depiction of the interior frame or detail at all. The DEF model canopies are excellent but don’t fit with the window panels Meng provides.
I had hoped that this line would be a new benchmark for the Typ82 but alas no.

On the plus-side they do go together very well. Maybe if you needed a few cheapies to populate a diorama?

MiniArt’s new RSO 35478 has a canvas canopy which includes interior detail-excellent design/moulding/engineering.

Speaking of Kubelwagens, remember when VW sort of tried to bring them back?
