UNAC Rider Fardier 1:35 BlackSnake Model

I needed a break from Lithuanian LR, so I decided to try a simple model from BlackSnake Model. After my not-so-great experience with Toyota from this manufacturer, I am now very pleasantly surprised. Elegant details, everything is simple and very nicely printed. Great rims. A very small but, in my opinion, interesting and impressive model. Well done @BlackSnake-Model

It does look pretty cool. Any figures to go with it?

No figurines. A quick, stress-free project.

That looks really nice. Great job on the weathering. Is the 120mm mortar from BlackSnake as well? I found one as a 3d file and it came out good but looks big for 1/35 to me. Can you measure from the tip of the barrel to the end of the baseplate for me, like below? Also, the tire diameter?

Thanks in advance.

The set includes a mortar and a trailer – your choice. Of course, I will give you the dimensions, but after 17 November. I am on a short holiday.

Looks great!

I too was eyeing this kit and BlackSnake Models has a November sale right now. I didn’t know how small it was until I saw your photos.

It’s not cheap for the vehicle and the figures, and being so small, I’m on the fence on if I’ll bite, even with the sale discount.

Is there anything that you can mention about how easy or hard it was to build and paint? Does it come with the cargo in the bed and water cans? Did you airbrush yours? Thanks in advance.

That works, assuming Black Snake got theirs right. How many times in the past year (or any year for that matter) have we seen resin kits that are off? Measuring the kit violates my own personal maxim - don’t use models as references. For anything - weathering, camo schemes, dimensional data.

The actual mortar dimensions are available. I’d go with them and scale them down to make my own comparisons. But that’s me. I like to avoid disappointment.

Maybe this could assist with the tire size?

Based on the tire size and dimensions I can find, the 3D print is right on for 1/35. I wanted to see how the two models compared as well. I guess it is just bigger than I expected, but it is 120mm. The mortar tube is about the same cross section as a 120mm Abrams barrel.

Diameter ≈ (2 × 7.5) + 16 = 31 in ≈ 78.7 cm ≈ 0.787 m

However, that doesn’t really work if you look at Michelin’s own specs for that size - not even close, actually.

I gave up on tire dimensions many years ago …

The 16 inch rim scales out almost exactly to the 1/35 rim on the printed piece.
