Ok after a lot of fiddling the underside is thankfully done and the wheels on.
A couple of the steering arms broke so plastic rod was used.

Already looks like a Stally - love it!
I like how it has that rear heavy look
Hi,
I’m on the verge of giving up on the stolly side of this😳there seems far to much to have to replace and to TBH with the Airfix one coming along I’m thinking do I need the hassle! So I’ll probably use bits and pieces to ‘upgrade’ the Airfix kit.
The UBRE part will still be on track👍
Jacko
Thats a shame mate, is it that bad ?
If it was the only one out there then I would obviously carry on with it but some parts like the airlines are so small they break coming off the block and then you have to improvise making your own etc!
It’s annoying because the CET went together like a dream!
After all it’s supposed to be an enjoyable hobby not a fight😳
Ain’t that the truth! I need constantly reminding of that whenever I’m amidst resin hell!
Sorry to hear about the UBRE but I fully get that; hopefully, we won’t have too long to wait for the Airfix Stally.
Airfix build blog here
I’ll still build the UBRE and hopefully it will fit in the back of 5he new kit,if not I’ve a cunning plan up my sleeve😉
Too bad that you have to subscribe to read.
Just clicked on the link came up for me! It said about subscriptions but I just scrolled down.
It´s on my to-build-list anyway.
That’s weird; I tackled it the first time and it was firmly locked behind a paywall, a second time it let me in.
I must say it looks a cracking kit; the transparent cover for the exhaust is a bit of an anomaly, but I’m sure someone will come up with an etch set to support this model. I thought that overall, it looked pretty decent.
I hope we don’t have the usual pile-on denigrating Airfix - as depressingly - happens all too often.
Let’s just be happy we’ve got one in 1/35!
Hi guys,
The title on this has been changed as the Stalwart is no more!
Started on the fuel tanks,
The resin is different here it’s cleaner and more like a plastic kit,
However the brackets for the fork tubes didn’t fit so back to the fiddling and mending:roll_eyes:
Jacko
Tank 1 done, the ends of the tubes has the end plate on,fuel hatch and fuel outlet pipe.
No 2 to go now.
Jacko
Nicely done … is the plan to wait for the Airfix Stolly or do you have a spare Bedford flatbed waiting in the wings ??
