Universal Carrier MkII 1/16 1st Buffs

Shame about the frame and label, otherwise it would look exactly like the real thing  I can’t think of any higher praise – are you tempted to temporarily requisition it for a Show? :trophy:

A total masterpiece John, I have to say. The amount of detail you have managed to get into this kit is a credit to your skill and patience. Everywhere you look at it there is some interesting piece of researched detail- like the way the chain goes from the eyelet on the front to the spare wheel and through the tow cable or the way the rope on the rear is carefully lashed into place over the stowage. And that’s nothing compared to the braided cabling on the radio headset or the various markings on the radio itself. My favourite bits are the authentic leather finish on the seats and also the weaponry which is painted with such detail- the bolt mechanism on the two rifles is superbly realistic. The weathering ties it in nicely with the base and those photos in natural light are just the business. Congrats on a stunning project!

Thanks Ryan… Glad you enjoyed mate … yeah, seeing it with the medals will be a nice touch :+1:

Hi Tim @Dioramartin … I hadn’t even thought of that …I’m way to critical of my builds to show them anywhere but here. I get enough good feedback from you guys. :+1:

Thanks Bert @bwilt … kind of you to say mate :+1:

Cheers Keith @kornbeef … it is a lovely kit and I think a perfect way in to 1/16 if people want to try one.

Karl @Karl187 , very appreciative of those kind remarks mate. I know the detailing was intense to say the least, but the end game was to give Andy (new owner) a really representative build of what his grandad would have used in Italy, so going that extra mile was worth it … And he really loves it which ticks all the boxes for me.
