US 1st Marine Division Bust from Young | Armorama™

I know this isn't a kind of thing we usually post on Armorama, but the bust is just incredible.

Incredible paint job, very impressive. I’d be happy if that were a full figure.

Calvin Tan is a great painter. The tones on the M-16 capture it perfectly from metal to different plastic components.

One thing that seemed off was the shoulder pockets as I didn’t recall those but doing some googling that appears correct.

Awesome looking bust- nice to see Young Miniatures doing another modern subject.

I thought you guys might like to see what is in the box.

I think you will agree that the quality is very high indeed- probably the sharpest piece I’ve seen from Young Miniatures with minimal clean-up required. The painting instructions are a nice addition too.

My only (minor) problem is the lack of instructions for putting the M16A2 together. I have another Young Minis bust with an M16A1w/M203 and it has instructions on how it goes together. Now personally I’m quite used to not having instructions of any sort in busts and resin figures- that is the norm usually. The inclusion of a painting guide in this kit is a good step forward- another would be some instructions in order to make it that bit easier for those starting out in figure modelling.
