With the Korean War in Mind, I’m trying to find US soldiers wearing the double-buckle boots, as most figure kits I’ve seen have soldiers in the gaiters, which I think went out of use by 1950. There are a couple of old Dragon soldier kits, but are there others?
A few figures in different older Tamiya US soldier sets have those boots. But most have leggings. I think a couple Miniart figures in different sets have them as well.
Those boots were around until at least 1953, because my father had them issued to him when he was drafted that year.
BTW, regarding the canvas leggings, the Marines were still using those in 1950 for the Inchon landing and liberation of Seoul.
