This is the old Verlinden M60 machine gunner. I did paint it in the old 6 color desert cammo (cookie chip). I did not like how it turned out and after sitting on a shelf for a number of years I decided to repaint it in the old BDU woodland scheme. Skin tones are oils and uniform and equipment in acrylics.
Let me know what you think, any suggestions for improvements?
Thanks Richard, the Verlinden figure is one of his best sculpting. I remember some of his WW2 Germans having a bit peculiar anatomy, hands bigger than the head, etc…
Very crisp and clean painting there. I especially like the BDU’s and the fading on them. Looks a lot better than the one I did a few years ago. I’ve got another in the stash so I might have to revisit this one.
Richard, I know where you’re coming from. This one in particular. VP 2441, the head is huge! Going to take some work to get this anywhere near decent.
I always recall that WW2 RAF pilot figure with the extremely long arms! There were others as well and later on some of his 1:35 scale figs were bloated.
I think the best ones were the early ones. The early figures from Desert Storm were some of the best. You can tell it was a different sculptor with the later ones.
