Kinda crazy to think all my Accurate Miniatures Mustangs would fit into this campaign’s age requirement…
How much scratchbuilding is allowed? Gipsy Moth is what I want to build, but it was going to get rigging. Can do stretched sprue if EZ Line breaks the rules. Or what about the XF-92? It was going to get a sewing needle pitot. Everything else OOB.

How about this…
I could also reverse things, putting, “VINTAGE”, at the top and, “OUT of the BOX”, at the bottom. That is a lot more work, though.
I am not doing this build but drop the circle and put a V on the red stripes. Make it look like an award with a V device then you can change up the device for other out of the box builds

Yes, the word Vintage on the bottom looks good and in the coming years you’ll just need to change the year.
I removed my spot: I want to do a minor improvement on the model (add a few hooks on the truck box with metallic wire; I really can’t skip that), so won’t be true OOB anymore.

This Tamiya 1/24 Toyota Supra Mk4 will be my entry for this group build. The kit and the car itself first came out in 1993. I only bought it about a month ago- I thought it would make a nice companion piece for the Tamiya Mk5 Supra I did last year. Then I saw this GB was starting and it fitted the requirements for that too!
I’ll be doing mine in red. Below you can see it in this color- the pictures are from the original 1993 Japanese sales brochure I found online.

I actually just bought this last month at a small shop outside of Pensacola, FL, but it fits the prerequisites:
It is missing one piece (the external front armored glass) that means I can only do one of the three schemes but I may be able to fudge it.
Well now the Universal carrier is done, and the flying T90 just got finished..,…I think it is time a palette cleanser …

So much for a nice simple OOB build to de-stress…
Started on step 1, the running gear …cut all these parts off the sprue …
All in all, after a count up, between all these parts, they have just over 230 pour stubs or sprue gates that now need cleaning up 
The 4 sprockets alone had 32 clean up points !!
AAAAUUUUGGGGHHHH I feel your pain. A nice simple build to destress for some reason always seems unobtainable. Why is that ?!

In my opinion, poor model design on the part of the model maker accounts for about 80% of it.
In model railroading circles it’s known as AMS - Advanced Modeller Syndrome! The marked inability to just do things the easy way, straight OOB… In this case the problem was choosing a Dragon kit, as these ALWAYS require remedial work!
