Vintage Out Of Box

Have the turret top a coat of TS-78 Field Grey spray.

Doesn’t seem right to me.

Compared to

My Kubelwagen, which I airbrushed in the same color, just from the bottle. What’s the consensus?

Looks quite pale. I used Tamiya XF-65 field grey

I used the spray can stuff. Should’ve known better.

I’ll repaint it

Er, I’ve got to ask Reynier, why would you paint a Kubelwagen in Field Grey in the first place? It’s a pretty unlikely colour for such a vehicle surely - given that colour schemes for the vehicle were normally dark grey and/or sand with or without a camouflage effect in red-brown and green.

Not to carp for the sake of it I assure you.

That’s was the color I had at the time.

I was lazy. :grimacing:

Fine by me Reynier; I wasn’t having a go, just curious!

I’ve got a vintage Testors (Fujimi) F7U Cultass kit I’ve had since high school I’ll do for the campaign. Complete with all the period in-box advertising!

Those old Testors kits do bring back some great memories of growing up.

I remember the old Kay-Bee Toy Stores had them.

Still working on the Monogram 1/48 P-38. Not a whole lot accomplished. Managed to get some of the subassemblies together like wheels and the tail booms.

Then today attaching the tail booms to the main fuselage.

Slow put making progress.

Finally got around to posting.

Working on other priorities, so this one’s been slow going. It’s assembled and primed. Just need to fire up the airbrush.

I hand painted the main gun and the cupola will get primed again after I ran out of black primer.

eh! Such is life.
