@Ted_Dannemiller - did you happen to get any pics of the rear laser warning receivers (AN/VVR-4) & the associated fairings/attachment points?

I don’t think I got one, although I see both fronts. I’ll have someone grab a shot when we have volunteer day next month.

Thanks to all who posted tool suggesions. I’m famiiar with and have several of those. I guess what I meant was modern tool sets. The ones I already own will be suitable for my post-war German motorcycle shop, but no so much for a modern refit facility…
I really need a modern socket set, but I was thinking about something like this tool chest in the photo:

I accidentaly stumbled across this tonight:

Although I may just use the wheels and scratchbuild a larger one. I also want to build a cart with a diagnostic computer on it.

I’m working on a modern tool set, including a socket set like I use at work. I have seen a lot of the tool chests you showed, but I need to make a field tool box, no one seems to have one.

What does the diagnostic setup look like?

I look forward to seeing what you will do. I"ll be your first customer. I’m thinking some air tools might be good as well.

As for the diagnostic setup - I’m not sure if I have photos or not. My hard drive is finally on it’s way back to me after a long arduous trip - but I saved $1450, which is what Best Buy wanted to have it repaired. If I don’t have any photos of the setup, I’ll just visit my mechanic. He’s been pretty used to seeing me lately. I’m sure he wouldn’t mind me snapping some shots. I just want to have a cable coming out of the driver’s compartment and hooked up to a computer.
I can use the compuiter from the Legend vehicle crew set. I have several of those sets and the Crewman #2 as well, so I can spare a few.

I have that legends set, so I can use it as a base to start. I just wanted to do something less generic and more accurate if necessary.

I should know in a few days if I have the photo or not. If it was there during one of my many visits I’m sure I got a shot or two. Those are the sorts of things I find interesting.

I forgot about this thread until the one about tool sets popped up this morning.
I had envisioned a cart like my mechanic uses, but in the Army’s AMPV training facility, the setup is wholly unimpressive. Just a plain old Dell laptop on top of a plain wooden table.
