VRN options for FV433 Abbot

Am I correct in thinking that the VRN plates for the FV433 Abbot
were always 2 digits-EB-2 digits? Photographs appear to suggest
this, but I wondered whether there were alternatives to the letters.
Interestingly, I have just come across an image of an Abbot with the
VRN 2 digits-DA-2 digits. Could this perhaps be a prototype vehicle?

Hi!

4 FV433 Abbot had DA VRN according to an armed forces museum. DA25, 26, 27, 29, 30. 25 and 29 were prototypes, 26 had an AA turret, 27 and 30 are not commented. With EB you are at the safe side. I have pictures of 07EB95, 08EB29, 07EB04, 07EB28.

Think they may be, the extra order off, the cheaper none floating ones, for BATUS , 8 of them rings a bell.

Yes that’s right, and as Frank said, I think it was about 8 that went over to BATUS
