More work on the PzIV Winterketten tracks.
Using Tamiya’s assembly instructions from their PzIV and the jig to get the right bend on the tracks. Is slow going. Trying to make everything fit as it should.

Those winter tracks look good.
And that boat is killer @RDT1953
@Barney that sounds like the Danish stretched M113 with continuous rubber tracks. Can’t remember the Danish nomenclature. I’ve got a PSM kit somewhere of it.
Some BeobPzArt progress.
I got the ramp and door to cooperate after scalding half the ramp and gently installing the door.
The ramp was a bit lumpy before:
Anyhow, this thing is weird. I love it!
Edited to add:
This is the plan for this one
for discussion purposes
At last I finished scratching my nurses en primered and pre-shaded them.
These 2 are the finalists from a total of 8 nurses… #clubmobile
Also, ready with scratching my jp crew, I used some Rado german insignias, medals and eagles just for fun.
Yeah, that’s it, thanks.
Sucks to change tracks because the sprocket/final drive has tho be removed.
Today hobby wise…started this…
…which is a delicious defacto reissue of Cyber-Hobby collectable…
…lot of unused parts…moved those to the side…stuff on top is spare parts…in the box what’s needed for the 251/23…
…even broke my cardinal rule of never having any sort of beverages near work bench…celebrating the reissue of so called collectable kit…
Cheers
Sorry Wade, friends don’t let drink and dragon. Those instructions are confusing enough without liquid spirits. Might need supernatural spirits and celebrate after the build.
Love it!
DON’T Drink & Dragon
Not drinking here (yet) or coffee , while waiting for materials to arrive, on with the tedious, small and awkward detail production:
Good times. The truck has roof beacons, naturally. So, went about making them. I had some colored rod material and put it to use, along with various alu bits and small rivets. Then, added the grab rail. For this, I used some really small eye bolts, which I hated to “waste” on this, as I like to use them a lot for suspensions parts and they are hard to find. For the rail, some really small dia alu tube.
How hard could this be to make??? well - not hard per se, but as I’ve added a variety of other details to the cab, it’s not easy to hold - I don’t want to break those mirrors off!!! (though I unintentionally tried several times! )
OK, happy weekend, GO NINERS!!!
Cheers
Nick
Asuka M32, this is the hardest kit I’ve ever worked on, the tiniest parts I’ve ever seen, I simply cannot see what I’m doing, even with magnifying glasses, I’m ready to put it away for a while. Surprisingly, lots of flash too,
That’s nuts! In a good way.
I’ve built so many M113s that I usually have a couple of complete sets of road wheels ready to go.
I’ll paint the set in this kit and save it for later, although I have to build and paint drive sprockets on this build for Diehl tracks this go round.
You know it’s an old Academy kit when it doesn’t have a giant hole in the bottom for a sprue gate, has a white decal sheet and the instructions are yellowed.
Spent a couple hours working on the back. Lots of filler for lots of bubbles in the castings and lots of broken/weak details. Bondo and black silicone + accelerator + sanding sticks….
And some topside stuff:
Ha! I can top that, Al! Inside the wing
And what I made of it …
Had the reboxed Revell kit from 2003 in my stash. Decals from the box, all were trouble-free.
Hahahahahaha. Don’t make me go out and turn one of my Renwal builds upside down….
Is that a B26 Marauder? Nice.
I’m sure you know its nickname based partially on the city that’s about an hour north of me…
Thanks Al!
Yes, that’s a Marauder, the only original B-26! The Invader was just renamed from A-26 to B-26.
Rare seen on model shows. But now that ICM comes out with a new Marauder in 1/48 this year (no, I won’t get it!), we might have a chance to see more of them. Was a beautiful aircraft. It’s a shame that only a handful survived. Most were scrapped in Germany shortly after the war. “Idiot’s Delight” survived the war with 138 missions flown and was probably scrapped in April/May 1946 …
The only nickname I know of the B-26 is “Widow Maker” because its high landing speed caused many accidents.
Baltimore whore.
Rhymes in American English….
Edited to add:
Although if you were actually from Baltimore, you’d probably say Bal’mer hoor
Today focused on one of the other “hobbies”, helping mom prep for “Sunday Dinner”.
Made a Spanish Basque style/inspired Burnt Cheese Cake for her based on Brian Langerstrom’s YouTube How to Video Brian is the NightShift of YouTube cooking in my opinion.
Last picture is quality control testing…
Anyway, didn’t have much Dragon time today wrapped Steps 3 & 4
My mobile version of workbench today is in the village of wife’s parents. A bit if Pz.IV G work before a road back to the big city.
As the Frigate Hessen is heading to the Red Sea, I pulled out the kit from Das Werk/Takom that I started two years ago. Hopefully it gets finished this time.
@Naseby nice ship. What is the aircraft carrier in the background?
After I grenaded the other commanders coupola complete with the AA mount by dropping it straight on to the floor, and all the PE flying off of it, I managed to find all the PE, but the coupola was a total loss. Luckily I have spares.
PE and all the 3D printed stuff from Micro Cosmos: commander’s coupola, special Bundeswehr M113 headlamps assemblies, smoke grenade launchers, front basket, cable reel holder, engine exhaust stack, and the cross/shield thing on the tail end.
Maybe one of our Geman members can tell me what this is called?
Front basket is temporarily taped in place.
Brass antennas were included in the Elite Models conversion.
I hated the way the cable reel and the reflectors on the rear fenders looked so I cobbled together a reel from the spares that was too wide and had to be sawed off to fit. Took 3 attempts to get it somewhat decent looking.
Reflectors also from spares. It’s Sunday! Let the eating begin!
