Ran some cables today, i’m a real fan of the eureka xxl products, the copper wires are very good to work with. Still need to add some butterfly nuts.
Not my workbench but office desk …
Got to take some of my guys through Pistol training before a range period …
I’ve never seen this model kit before… Must be some obscure company, perhaps one of the ones 3D printing their kits.
Back in the 80’s Sharper Image sold some 1:1 scale replica guns from a Japanese company (can’t recall the name now) that were movie-quality replicas that were made from metal where metal was used in the real thing, broke down like the real thing, and could fire rounds using a cap pistol system where the brass rounds accepted a small gunpowder cap strong enough to allow the weapon to empty a full magazine.
I had an Uzi, M16, and Colt .45. The M16 was damaged by an ROTC cadet of all people, when he re-assembled it incorrectly while demonstrating how to do so in front of his friends.
The Uzi was my favorite although it got to be a PITA dealing with the powder caps since I would go through 32 at a pull of the trigger and being proprietary in design meant you had to order them from SI or Japan. It also attracted the attention of a motel owner when I was visiting a friend with it and I had 3 police cruisers show up to ask about it.
This and other similar situations led to those kits being banned for sale in the U.S.
I took the anti-g service rig out for some paint yesterday, and started weathering today:
So it went from very bright to not bright
Still picking out details and anything I see that looks wrong -

I spoiled the look of my Light Tracked Artillery Tractor M-2 with some paint:
Next I’ll apply some oils.

I know this MG on StuG is 5 days old but it missed the point a bit, so I wated to give my 2 cents worth of knowledge here. The main reason why it is used this way is the fact that it does not fit into the hull. The first versions had it crew operated as you know behing a small shield and this was causing high casulty rate as that position was exposed to soviet small arms fire- being the highest point of the vehicle. So no tactical benefit, just lack if space.
Impressive work as always!
But, what is this?
Thanks Robin!
That’s a defect (courtesy of MiniArt) I’ll try to turn into an effect (with some rust pigment and washes).
Plenty of wheels show same bruises, so they’ll get similar treatment
Cheers,
Angel

Well, I made some basic bases for some current builds and started one for a build I completed nine years ago.
I have only made three bases prior to this, with two being street scenes for a couple of car kits and another being a simple board with static grass attached to it with no ground cover (that was my first base).
The base already drilled for attachment I will try to spruce up as I don’t care for the thin border I left around the edge. The two soldiers are standing on the new home for their 8.8cm Flak 36
I still have some stuff to add; just waiting for the Modge Podge to fully dry and allow my hand to recover from accidentally zapping myself a few times.
Jump-starting yourself with the static grass applicator?
I was at the UK MAFVA Nationals today with my branch, while manning the stand I got out my travel tools and got to it with a few 3D printed kits and a resin conversion.
All 1/72
Th 3D printed stuff first;
Centurion BARV
Hippo BARV
