What did you do in your modeling workshop today?

That’s a softskin if there ever was one!

Al, fantastic job on the Leguans! Really an eye catcher! :+1:
In the 2nd photo on the lower board I recognize a Kodiak, Bergeleo (BPz2), Dachs and on the far right side is a M88 (BPz1). Correct?

The far left:

Strangest kit I’ve ever built. Colored CAD instructions. The boom arm and base for the bucket snapped together without any glue at all.

Second from right:

The only reason I saved these boxes is because they have other things in them…

Not yet today, but yesterday I worked on the cradle carrier:

This is quite machine - on one hand, very simple, a tractor mounted on a deck, but on the other, there is a lot going on under and suspending the tractor. On we go -

Cheers

That brings back memories. This was my first armor kit almost two decades ago.

Spitfire, I think you definitely picked the right kit to have an excellent first armor kit!

After slapping zimmerit on the Late Tiger & experimental Cromwell, the Pershing just sorted looked all neglected in monochrome olive drab plastic. Decided the Pershing deserves some “personality” as much as the other two did so added some armor texture tweaks. Not because it’s needed but because I wanted too after all the putty time with the other two models.

Primed the barrel with a rattle can. First use of a spray can on a model in 30+ years. Discovered the barrel will need some more TLC as a hair line popped in a couple of spots.

Fourth project stalled waiting on aftermarket parts…in 2.5 weeks…

…just can’t abide installing these…they are OK but not what I want for the model…

…likewise…

Still fusing with how I wanna’ do this.

Hey, it’s the Princess of Wales birthday- do any of our UK members know what this rank device is? Colonel? Princess?

Damn, she’s fine.

She is a Colonel.

AFAIK, her rank is merely honorary, is one of the perks of being part of the Royal family, unlike her husband, Prince William, who served in the Royal Army (Bues and Royals/Royal Irish Guard), Royal Navy and RAF (as a SAR Pilot).

Well I did finished this last week I think I did ok. I tried a few new things and I think sticking with the kit sting for the cables would have been better. And I lost the mount for the gun so I’ll need to order a new A spru.

Colour on my Saab J29 …

I would go with the ET Models Pershing tracks…they are easy to put together and look better than the kit vinyl.

Finished my Swedish UN unit, only patching up gluespots, adding antenna’s and a base left to do…

Sorry for the late reply. I used it to quickly paint the toolsets on the vehicle. I also painted the barrel and the rubber parts of the wheels in the same way, it dries very fast and I think the coverage is good. This time, I didn’t gather the construction stages under any forum title, so I went a little fast, but in summary, I recommend it, especially for gaining speed. :innocent: :beers:

I’d like to see this comparison continued when the parts arrive if you haven’t already planned to do so :+1:

Joe, definitely will accommodate if I can remember.

For the M26 Pershing, the barrel probably won’t be much difference, the muzzle brake I’m expecting some difference. The .50 really hoping . The tracks will be most obvious based on prior experiences.

@Nathan_Smith Nathan, thank you for weighing in on the tracks. I’ll keep ET in mind going forward. I’d already ordered Fruilmodel’s.
