Very nice work! Got one of those, but it’s in the OIF stash so it’ll be years before I get to it.

I’ve finished the build of a Bulgarian 2S1 Gvozdika SPG and am almost done with the build of the ChMZAP-5247G trailer, that carries it:

Now off to the NMMH-Sofia(today is the National Holiday of Bulgaria) and once back- I have the MAZ-537G tractor waiting in the build queue.

Cheers,
Angel

News from my little MiniArt wrecker truck. It made a big step forward and is nearly done now minus the crane which is on the bench at the moment. Some detail painting still has to be done and the red is glarier than in real.

IN about 3 weeks I have my first model show this year. The truck should be done by then … :innocent:

Too cute to sit in the stash…

83 links per side per instructions, working on the least fun part first.

Half of one track today.

Almost done with my custom BSG 1/6 Scale Commander Adama. I am not a good figure painter at all, but I’ve tried my best to do Lorne Greene justice.

That really looks awesome… The only part I would change is the color of the lips… a little flesh color mixed with some burnt red will get you a more realistic color for lips…

I’ve been debating the eyebrows and lips. In the show he had darker brows, and muted lips.
Thanks for the feedback!

I think you do yourself no justice at all. The result is really great! It now looks as if he wears lipstick.

@Arch-Stanton thanks! The alu tubing is helpful to have around - as for where I get it and evergreen, usually Scale Hobbyist and HobbyLinc. Scale Hobbyist seems to keep many of their products stocked, and they are very reliable. HobbyLinc carries all sorts of stuff, regarding evergreen, if you keep an eye on their weekly sales, you can find some helpful stuff for us scratch builders, specifically oversized sheets/pieces of evergreen - like 24" lengths at good prices, and they are also quite reliable.

As for plastruct, that is hit and miss for me. The materials seem to be generally more expensive and harder to find than evergreen, and their catalog includes several unique shapes which can be useful. For now, the only plastruct materials I tend to keep in stock are hex-rods for bolt heads which I seem to use pretty often.

And now some updates - some pre-weather pictures of the baja bug:

Sorry these are a bit dark, but the car looks pretty good, so much so that I’m not eager to add much weathering - maybe just a good dusting? And, I can see the left front sagged wheel appears to be sagging up hill…nice :man_facepalming: @Arch-Stanton, as for the torsion bars, front and rear - they were replaces with wishbones, A-arms, and in the rear, big swingarms, with really big coil over shocks, which naturally, are hard to see when done!

And, you may have forgotten about the Jeep J-10 conversion:

The actual build of this turned out reasonably well. As you might recall from previous posts, this has been highly modified from the kit version (ROK K311A1) in an attempt to make it look like a Jeep J-10. So, all things considered, it looks ok. However, the paint - old Tamiya white in a can, didn’t do me any favors. The pigment seems to have separated from the bonding agent in the can - and no matter how much shaking I did, no luck. The paint went on watery and tended to pool in corners. So, to address this, I focused my added on weather a bit more aggressively there and it looks ok.

I’m pleased with how the grill turned out - actually pretty surprised. As it’s such a distinctive feature of this this truck, it was an important goal to get it close to the real thing.

OK, on we go
Nick
