What size ? Plastruct offer .020 & .030” across flats hex rod that can be salami sliced for bolt heads.

That’s the most cost effective way to do it. There are a few tips to make it easier to pull off.
It’s very difficult to cut off uniform bolt heads, or the even cut them so that the cut is square - so I don’t even try. It’s futile, and wastes time.
This is mainly for folks who haven’t worked with the hex rod much b efore.
I start with a piece of hex rod with a squared end, and cut if to the approximate size I need - larger than necessary is best. Then I file the end of the hex rod square and begin again. Repeat the process until you have more bolt heads than you need. What you now have is a bunch of bolts heads which have a definitely squared profile on one side, and mar or may my not be square on the other, depending on how square you able to make your cuts. It doesn’t matter.
Lay out the bolts where you want them, with the squared side down. Touch liquid cement to the base of each, and give them time. If you don’t give them enough time, they may move on you later.
When they’re nice and set, take a file or a stiff sanding block, and level off ghe exposed edges of the bolt heads. You’re leveling and making them all uniform height at onece.

This tank will be sand color with the mine roller.
Would those two thickness antennas and the duke antenna be appropriate for this version?

Not an M1A2 SEP V2 but the two VHF/UHF high power broadband antennas and the DUKE can be used on the same vehicle. Here is an M1A2 with both types.

You don’t need to switch them out. The SEP V2 does use both types of antennas. Here are a couple SEP V2’s with the high power broadband antenna.
Here is a SEP V2 with a plough with the DUKE.

Threading the needle… 
While looking over my build notes this morning, one thing lead to another and…
…the stanchions got their thread on.
• Syren Ship Model 0.012” (.30mm) Ultra Tan Scale Rope
Along the way, I revisited the dreaded Stanchion hole No. 13. I wallered the hole and clipped the stanchion a bit and was able to fudge the repair. Good enough for government work.

Getting closer to the end with my Tamiya Schwimmwagen; just got the upper and lower body together. I applied a light wash over the interior and will go back later with more soiling of the wooden flooring and seats. Next step is to apply the secondary color(s), blend that, then assemble the last bits and weather it all into the base. The figures are mostly built and will be my focus after the buggy is done.
Still working on two Federation starships and a 1/35 U-boat to also finish by EOY.
