A hearty thank you. Much appreciated!
The only game in town a 1/48 Mirage IVP, and a build assist thing which will also work for my ships.
Should be pretty big at that scale. I got their 1/72 kit a couple of years ago, expecting something a little bigger than the III. Boy was I wrong!
This looks like it includes the ASMP missile? The smaller kit only has the option of the earlier bomb.
Yeap ASMP missile is included, the kit is however quite old and I knew this this before I hit the buy button, raised panel lines but they are really thin and quite small so I may live with them, however new bang seats and exhaust cans are a must.
If you want to see one in the flesh get yourself to Elvington Yorkshire Air Museum as they have one, what an impressive aircraft. It got me hooked on the whole Mirage III, IV, V, 50, 2000 and 4000 family including all the conversions made on the III airframe Kfir, Nasher, Pantera, Dagger etc.
Not my photo, just for discussion but gives you an idea of the size difference.
That’s cool, thanks. Had no idea we had one over here in the UK. Might have to try and visit next time we’re in that part of the country.
Sounds a lot like the 1/72, although at that scale I can live with the shortcomings. Not a lot can be seen through the canopy from what I remember with test fitting. Would make a nice little addition to a Nuclear Delta collection. Vulcan, Mirage and B-58.
Looking forward to seeing how you get on with it.
Yeah, it’s a huge aircraft and still very elegant.
Yeah there’s a story behind that, Elvington was the base of several French air force squadrons during WWII. There a nice bit of info and a part of the museum is dedicated to this, anyway one of those squadron went on to operate the Mirage IV so when it was retired from service they donated one to the museum.
It sits next to a Victor and Nimrod, plus in nice weather they role out their Halifax to display outside.
DSPIAE Orbit Electric Hand Drill (follow-up)
[Re-posted from ‘AeroScale’]
I was hand-painting wheels today and as usual, I got outside the lines. ![]()
For the heck of it, I chucked a wheel attached to a rod with Blu-Tak into the drill — freakin’ le voilà! … What was taking me about forty-five minutes (four wheels) was now tackled in about ten minutes tops.
The drill rotates at just the right rate of speed. With wheel turning, my paintbrush just conformed to the rim edge, even with a wobbly set-up.
Wow! I’ve never had wheels come out that clean! … Bonus feature: the “reverse button.”
Just had to share that.

Hi there
It’s many moons since I’ve post in the thread, but it’s not often a kit like this lands on my doorstep for review! ![]()
HUGE thanks to Eduard for the sample and to our own Fred Boucher for arranging it! Watch out for a review soon, with a build to follow as soon as I finish my current project.
All the best

I’ve ordered these items off of eBay recently and received these items, a decal sheet and some old Koster early type exhaust stacks for the long sidelined semi completed 1/48 Monogram He-111 in my shelf of doom. I did a bit of research and found that I can cobble together markings from this sheet for a Battle of Britian He-111H-3. The exhausts were needed for the H-3 type.
So sometime late this year or early next year I will get on the He-111 “Child of Doom” project.
Arrived late yesterday just after I left for work.
Second of my contingent of 1/48 Mirage’s / Mirage derived.
Have fun with that one Rowan! Looks to be a fantastic kit.
This arrived today. Cool subject (to me) and well done, but definitely your typical short run kit. Shape is correct and reasonably well detailed but will likely need some filler and a date with the sandpaper before being ready for paint. Wings are butt joined to the fuselage so will need to add some reinforcement there.
Might feature in the upcoming X planes campaign….
Couple of books and a Mirage with friend!
For those not aware the books come with a decal sheet in both 1/72 and 1/48 to cover several of the profiles in the books.
