What the postman brought today (AeroScale)

Had one as a teen but never flew it as I had issues with the diesel engine.

Thought you may like this I found on youtube;

I am so dizzy after watching that! :face_with_spiral_eyes::woozy_face::nauseated_face:

Stephen, I managed to find them on ebay, love a Vigi but like the idea of a camo A-6 and US Navy F-4G (not to be confused with the USAF F-4G which is a completely different bird)

I don’t know how those guys flew those so close together without tangling lines, wrapping each other up, severing body parts or falling over dizzy!
My hat is off to them, that’s more co-ordination than I have.

The noise of the engines has reminded me of that time my dad was running in a new engine on a test bed he’d built he clamped to the bench in the garden. Well, the bench started moving and looking for something to weigh it down, he chose me! I was about 8 at the time, sat next to this glow engine, spitting exhaust at me and a spinning prop inches from my knees. That was fun.

It’s the Vigilante I’d like to do in that cammo too. I’ve got the Kamngnam boxing I’ve had for years but the decals don’t look the best. Looking at it though, the markings do seem to be minimal and I could probably do it from generic serials and the like I have in my decal box.

Most of us had or remember control line model aircraft of the powered variety. My query was regarding these kits that were not powered - they were essentially a static model with a tether to one wing that you whipped around your head . I can’t recall who made them - Hawk perhaps ?

I have the Trumpeter 1/48 Vigi with the MDF internal framing to try and sort out the dorsal flex issues, this has been sitting on the shelf of shame for several year now in primer I must dig it out and finish it. I also have 2 of the Trumpeter 1/72 Vigi’s. Recently found a German company (via Scalemates) that is working on a back date conversion for the 1/72 Trumpeter kit to an A-3J/A-5A, they project a 1st quarter 2023 release.

A bomber version would be very welcome. That tail sliding bomb system is so unique and crazy!

You’ll have to post how you get on with them all. I do like the A-5.

Here’s the page on Scalemates with a link to the company

Thanks, I might keep my eyes peeled for that. I’ve been meaning to picking up one of the Trumpeters and this might be a good excuse!

I don’t think I ever saw one of those.

Mine is on the way.

Little Christmas present to myself landed today.

Thinking of doing the Iraqi version with the resin Exocet missile.

Or a Middle East campaign?
I’ve got more than one build half finished I need to crack on with before I start this one. Looks like a really nice kit though. Loads of options in the box and the spares box will get a big boost of French ordnance!

Building two Eduard Fw’s - although I have had a few of their kits in my stash for some time , the Fw’s are my first build experience with their kits .
They are so nice that I had to have more…
these will make the Tamiya versions in my stash surplus.

I have that Wildcat on my bench right now, Richard. Have just started the kit, but from judging the other Eduard kits I’ve built so far, this should be another fine one. Though I’m not a big fan of etch parts …

Because I don’t fully trust old Matchbox decals, I found this set on eBay for the Panther.

Not sure if any of the options are for Korean War aircraft, but one is for a Panther used in the filming of Bridges of Toko-Ri.
Might be a contender for the Film Star campaign.

Good luck with the 109. I couldn’t get through mine…

I’ve been eyeing their FWs. If you complete the builds and say they are good, I may get one.
