Just a few weeks ago I complained, that the Airfix Saracen doesn’t come to Germany while it’s already available in other parts of the world. Well, what should I say? My online shop gave me a notice on Monday, that my pre-ordered Saracen is in stock now and it arrived at my door yesterday

Over 15 years of waiting is finally over.
For now, I decided to purchase one. If I successfully build this model, I am interested in the alternate version.

I’ve found similar listings on Ebay. Notice that none of them actually say Valkryie, they just use their boxart. Unboxed means they are very likely illegal, pirated copies of Valkryie’s figures, hence the cheap price, which should be about double what you paid.

After a voyage on a not-so-slow boat from China, for the princely sum of 46 quid, we have Drami’s Kpz-70; first the box art, which has been modified (around the 20mm cannon and the faces), and poor old Ron Volstad’s signature is not to be seen:
The plastic has now changed to green and the tracks to black:
They still haven’t opened up all the hatches - although I don’t quite know why I was expecting they would, so for me, out with the pin-vice drill:
They do include a gun barrel for the 20mm though:
which is infuriating as I’d prepared the ground with these (to be honest the main armament is moulded well enough):
What they have included is a complex 3D printed addition to the 20mm cannon mechanism; it’ll be fun removing that little lot:
Infuriatingly, this is not covered in the instructions at all; perhaps it’s intuitive - we can but hope. Of course, only relevant for those modellers who want the 20mm mount deployed as in action:
So, to sum up, a reasonable price; a colour change of plastic (including the tracks) and some extra detailing. What’s not to like? It is labelled on the box top as a “Beta version”; one can but hope that say, an “Alpha version” will be the US model. Hope that is(!)

Jeez Hermann, just rejoice! Nothing a couple of coats of primer won’t put right or even a bit of light sanding, honestly.

Sanding will do the job for me. Tanks are printed hollw, which will need some extra work. I would have preferred a good old solid tank.

I required some 1/35 scale Canadian flags – for a couple of Cold War projects: one the Rent a Panzer Leo 1A2, and I thought I might display it with a M151 (the second project). For once, my thinking outside the box paid off and today I received this useful little set from Pendraken – a wargaming vendor: Whilst the Aussie and NZ flags may not be immediately useable, the Canadian ones, in several sizes, will do nicely I reckon (a US product I note so may well be old hat to some on here):
