I was also going to propose the Object 279. Anything with more than two sets of tracks qualifies.
On that theme:
The Swedish UDES
The Object 490B
This is like the armored version of Wacky Races

I’d forgotten this one - which I desperately want to do (!) - but it’ll have to join the queue. Gentlemen, I give you the “T-74!”
Oops, forgot this one.
Couple of favorite failed designs, post WW2.
Produced in Jagdtiger/Elfant/Ferdinand numbers or less equals failure for a MBT/light tank etc in my view.
T-14 Armata
M8 Armored Gun System, sometimes known as the Buford. Was supposed to replaced the M551 Sheridan. This thing looks pretty ugly.
ARL 44, looks unique. Wish there was a kit. It has WW1 meets the Cold War looks. Definitely worthy “character” for model building.
Frenchy! THANK YOU
It’s stunning there’s a kit of that very rare aesthetic jewel!
Going on my wish list for the next time Spruebrothers.com has a sale on Amusing Hobby.
I always liked the FV4005 ‘Centaur’ with the 183mm gun- an absolute beast. (In a popular online game about tanks, called Warthunder, this is known as the ‘Battlebarn’- for obvious reasons!)
I like this. I should buy it sometime.

Good luck for the driver having to get out with gun to the front.
Karl, I hope I’m not teaching you to suck eggs here but you’re probably aware that Amusing Hobby make one of these?
Or at least I think it’s one and the same.
The T249 Vigilante and its 37mm rotary cannon put the GAU-8 to shame. It could turn anything less than a MBT into cheese. The problem is that it needs tons of power to run and it shoots dozen of kg of ammunition per second.
Wow! Love that - not that’s what I call air defence.
I’m assuming a fairly recently restored version - I certainly haven’t seen this pic before?
Brilliant Karl - I sort of assumed you were all over it.
'Probably just as well these remained as prototypes; on the other hand, if I were say, in a T-10 tank crew, I would not want 183mm’s (7.2") worth of shell landing on my glacis!
Awesome design! Love these revisions and you’ve done a great job executing it.
RU251 holds a special place in my heart:disguised_face:
Ah Paul, then I’m assuming you’ve stumbled over my rather mediocre version under “Spähpanzer RU 251” (God knows how to link it all directly - I forget).
You’ll be underwhelmed I’m sure, and I stress it’s not a full-on review/build blog, but it might be of passing interest.
