I figure it fits in with all my Leopard 1 and Leopard 2 builds
Goes together really nice come with 4 optional sets of markings 2 what if in ooerational Bundesweher marking for mid 80s and 2 set of marking for the test subjects from the mid 70s
It’s a nice kit, I enjoyed building it, but I maintain that just sticking in-service Bundeswehr markings on it makes for a hard-to-suspend-disbelief what-if model. As it’s laid out, it’s not a fighting vehicle, IMHO, and even if you ignore that it’s missing all the kind of kit that would be on the outside if it was actually in service — chiefly, pioneer tools and smoke launchers.
i don’t plan to put mine in operational markings what color did you use on yours i know the Bundeswehr in the 70s used gelb oliv RAL 6014 Ak has both the inital and late variations which one would you recommend? and also read Tamiya XF51 kahki drab is a good match as well
one thing i noticed is that it shares the suspension of the MBT 70 so i sent takom suggesting that they should do both the American and German version of the MBT70
Mr. Aqueous H52 Olive Drab (1), which apparently is a very good match for RAL 6014 (according to someone I know who is both a modeller and into 1:1 vehicle restoration):
You may have noticed the sprue has one too many wheels for the VT 1-2, which suggested to me that Takom may have had thoughts about doing at least a second-generation KPz 70. The wheels are the wrong type for an MBT 70 as it was actually built, or an early KPz 70, though.
