Finding I had a free afternoon after finishing the Kawasaki, I thought I’d play around with some mini dioramas using some kits and figures I’d finished earlier in the year. Here they are. The LIG 18 is the horrid old Esci/Italarei offering which came in a box with the 1ton halftrack Sdkfz 10 and a load of figures, including the gun crew. Fortunately, you can’t see too much of it on the base! The crew painted up OK, but the dynamics of the poses are all wrong I can now see. The figure kneeling covering his ears, couldn’t actually do that as the gun is fired by a lever next to the breech lever and the standing figure looks as though he is pulling a lanyard which is wrong. I may need to swop those two around. The motorcycles are Tamiya, the DKW 350 and the Zundapp KS600. The “bases” are bamboo coasters that came from the Range, as did the base for the LIG, which is actually a butter dish (same place, Range, £2). The road on the two bike bases is bits cut out of a Tamiya sheet and the grass is Noch.

Mate that is a nice little collection of models there. Clean builds and not over weathered. Lovely job!

Very nice job on those projects. The camo on the figures looks great.

Doesn’t Vision Models make the LIG 18? Is it a rebox of the Esci/ Italeri kit?

I thnik that Vision Models is a new mould. I updated the ESCI kit with some plastic and elbow grease.

Very nice trio of dios there. You’ve packed a lot into quite small spaces and created interesting groundwork/surroundings but nothing to overshadow the figs themselves. Great portrayal of the camo schemes too!

Nice work. Sometimes, a lot can be done with old kits and figures. The main thing is that a story is being told.
