Something for those who struggle with manipulating tiny parts – I’m not sure what its proper term is, but it’s from a jeweller’s tool kit - for picking up small gems and placing them in mounts. It’s a crutch for grabbing – no more pinging off the tweezers into the carpet monster.
Press the end and claws gradually extend outwards from the business end. Release to grab…
Looks very useful! Why does it not surprise me that it’s you recommending a crotch….uh I mean a crutch grabber.

I have what appears to be the same tool however much larger crutches. The tiny ones seem much better (that’s what she said).

A toothpick and a block of beeswax, or even a candle, is the simplest, and cheapest!

Actually my wife just bought a retired jeweller’s tool kit at auction for a song, mainly for her own purposes but knowing something might interest me too. I’m so glad I’ve taken this tool away from her, now that I know what it’s actually called…

Getting grabby with it.. I’m sure some couldn’t grab it while wearing an optivisor 
I use wax pencils. I bought them on Amazon.
I have heard rumours that some eat crayons instead of using them as pickup tools.
Mostly ex-infantry/ combat arms types…
