After conclusion the NASA Shuttle program with Atlantis’ last mission (STS-135), I dedicated my first Real Space Modeling project to the beginning the legendary space shuttle era before more than 40 years.

I was inspired to this long-term project by similar space modeling projects in the German forum Raumfahrer.net.

I decided for Space Shuttle Challenger’s Maiden Flight STS-6 (04.04.1983) to keep the legacy alive of the crew of Challenger’s mission STS-51-L, which crashed shortly after takeoff, whereby all the astronauts were killed.
