Seems 1:35, looking at the partnumber on the side, and in the lower right corner of the box front.

Alright, stop laughing! Yes, you at the back - I see you!

I couldn’t read anything in the pic, and didn’t look at the Armorama page, so thought it best to ask. And I too missed the July thread…

All right! CAMs makes such good models. They rival Tamiya for fit and finish and totally blow them away for detail.

Can’t wait. Been hoping for one of these in plastic for decades,

Ohhhh. I see now. This is another World War II British truck built to military pattern and really a Bedford OXT (30 CWT). GS just means General Service which is not very helpful at all. Cannot keep this stuff straight.

Does any online store in the United States carry Combat Armour Models? I am only finding them on eBay.

Note to anyone thinking to start a model company–make sure your company name is a unique search term. Do not shoot yourself in the foot by making it hard for potential customers to find your products.

The oblique box is a measures intended to provide you with sufficient information while maintaining the confidentiality of the product, such as the 3Decals choice shown on the upper parts.(There are torally 6, 3 for early prod, 3 faor late prod)

The boxart is an Bedford OXD Mk I late production, Hong Kong Volunteer Defence Corps (red-yellow-blue flag on the door). The Corps were entrusted to the title “Royal” for the outstanding services in the battle of Hong Kong. The Corps finally become the Royal Hong Kong Regiment (Volunteers) where we came from.

That is great news! I’ve been hoping that Gecko might develop their MWD range to include the OXD/OXY but wasn’t holding my breath. The only other current alternative has been the MMK F3007 resin kit

but polystyrene will be preferable.
I had been under the impression that CAMs had closed up, so double good news.

Your wish…

My views below, based on having a few examples from each vendor…
Geko tend to do separate releases, but with often over complicated engineering.
The CAMS kit I have had over complicated engineering, and, as here do 2 in 1, but (I find) harder to source in the UK, your milage may vary.

I commend Cams for doing this, but Geko could have done this much earlier. I will get both, and eagerly wait for the 3T (LWB) versions.

I hope they also do a version with a Queen Mary trailer

Wait ages for a bus (or Bedford OXD) and then two turn up at the same time  Likewise I’ll add at least one of each to the plastic motorpool. Fantastic, raining trucks :upside_down_face:

If that is the case, the clear parts will be replaced by better “glass”…

Rubber tyres will have better details than plastic one. You need more molds in the slide molding.

Is it not possible to cast the tyres in resin? If the kit comes with vinyl tyres I will probably look at making resin copies for myself when I get around to the build, if no AM tyres are on the market by that time. I just don’t trust vinyl components (or Dragon’s DS version)

Cost and hassle?
Many model builders do not want to bother with resin wheels/tires.

11 March ▶ jpwaller

Terance_KW_Wong

Numerous constraints were present in this situation. Some discussions have taken place.

Rubber, vinyl, and resin tires were considered, with rubber tires being the most cost-effective option due to fewer slide molds and enhanced detailing. There are both civilian and WD tires available with varying rim designs. The molder responsible for the test build confused these components. The molder also confused with the parts on the early / late version.

Regarding Pyrene fire extinguishers, they feature a T handle that can be positioned horizontally or vertically, along with a safety clip. To minimize the number of photo-etched parts, certain details were omitted, although we adhered to some photographic references. It won’t be cost effective to make another fire extinguisher for Bedford OS.

Civilian Tyres are fixed with WD rims.
