Take my money. I am not the biggest fan of Takom and especially the Blitz kits but this is a Jagdpanther and I want (another) one.

I think after seeing the Panther G Blitz that Wade @Armor_Buff built, these are worth the money and have some good potential. Would happily go for this as well, as well, its a Jagdpanther :person_shrugging:

What’s the thing with the “hooks” connecting the road wheels together? Is this just to speed up assembly? I suppose you won’t see them once the suspension is assembled but all the same it reminds me of a small scale “wargames” kit.

Exactly that I think mate. Just speeds up the process and should improve painting speed and assembly speed etc. I thought that wargaming etc, but once you see what Wade did with the Panther G I saw it in a new light.

I fail to understand how this would speed up the assembly,
possibly by preventing confused model builders from getting
the wheels all mixed up.
The instructions for the Panther Ausf. G (the rebox by Das Werk)

The little bows are supposed to stay in place.
Should be easy to “cure” with side cutters and a fine file/sandpaper …

I would treat them as oddly shaped injection gates/supports

Das Takom Werk’s SuperBlitz JagdPanther? SOLD!!!

I’ll buy at least one copy, even if it has a 50% tariff on it when it releases. Worth up to ~$50 in my opinion based on building their late Panther G.

The Das Takom Werk’s SuperBlitz Late Panther G is a very nice surprise, especially for the $24.99 price tag. Even on Missing Lynx where defecation on newly released model kits is typically the sport of the day, the kit received many positive comments.

The groups of four attached road wheels help building, by keeping the wheels in alignment for assembly of the link and length tracks. There’s less cat herding with semi-secure wheels. If one glues F2 & F3 wheels together, there’s only two wheel units to keep in place when doing the link & lenth tracks. I hate link & length tracks in general but these were OK.

The outer most wheels are individual.

Took ~13 hours. Estimate most could do the same in ~8 hours or less.

BtW - don’t put the turret on like I did. It snapped in place and won’t remove. I forgot to enlarge the slots in the hull to make it removable.

Unfortunately, it looks like they’ve replicated the sealed off raised fan cover as on the G kit. Wish they would have given you the option of an open one.

What a great time for fledgling armor modelers! A chance to own, at a low price point, the iconic Jagdpanther. Easy to build but super detailed and accurate. Also a nice stressless weekend build for the more advanced modeler. Something for everyone. I hope Takom has more of these kits in the pipe.

However, consider the brightside unlike practically every manufacturer who offers that option, Takom /Das Werks actually gets the reinforced armor plate correct for non early Panther G’s. It’s really a fantastic offering despite not being perfectly perfect.

I’d much rather tweak the engine deck heater box than fix the typically missed reinforced armor plate on top of the hull.

The SuperBlitz is so cheap it’s worth buying for the upper hull to update more expensive kits.

I should have saved my money and purchased two of these instead of those stupid Alanger Panzer IIs.

some isues on that model Panther G is I gues are the close rear hatch and the closed Heater ( the germans never use it Ihe only picture with some of the pieces mounted are from a abadone vehicle and the US soldiers fixed this) so If you want to build a proper model you have to pay for aftermarkets and this expandet the price which is easily to a better.Neverless i bought me one too and I´m not very exited what in the box .2 or 5 € more is cheap as well but there is many space for Improvements that take this model to a much better experience and under 30 is allways a cheap priece for a Panther but it is worth the parts to have in the kit already…Sadly some of the fautls apear on the Jadpanther too

Hi Detlev,

The external periscopes top is present for the turret & hull. They are molded in respectively with separate covers provided.

Shown in instructions and visible below.

Perfectly fine if the vehicle is buttoned up, still workable with open hatches if a figure is present. Zero issues with that in $25 new tooled well designed kit. However, the best part is it’s an easy quick build perfect for folks new to the hobby. Likewise a nearly ideal vehicle build for a diorama that isn’t focused on vehicle details.

BTW - The two of the three 1990’s era release Tamiya Panther G kits omitted the turret periscopes completely.

If you’re looking for the ultimate Panther G build, the Das Takom Werk’s SuperBlitz kit isn’t the best starting point. However, it doesn’t have to be the ultimate to be a well worthwhile kit.

This kit has a lot of ultimate potential but it missed the reinforced driver compartment roof armor that’s a defining characteristic of the non-early Panther G’s.

However, it might benefit from that spare Takom Late Panther G upper hull to address the missing detail of the
reinforced driver compartment roof armor.

The Takom Panther G’s also seem to have a very good reputation from what I’ve seen.

Cheers :beers:

This is my biggest issue with the kits. It may be a small thing, but it’s a distraction to me, especially if I don’t want to model winter scene. Like in Tamiya kits (in general), that never have provisions for open periscopes, FREX in their Sherman kits.
