I’m trying to get the road wheel together and they do not fit properly, Has anyone found this too
I have not built this kit (not my scale, have to draw the line somewhere ..).
Have you tried dry fitting the three parts I have circled below?
The arms and the poly-cap without the wheels.
Did you glue both A5 to the same side of the hub?
Free advice: modern kits can get quite “angry” if the sprue gate nubs and other superfluous plastic isn’t removed properly before assembly.
No glued on opposite sides
Phew!!
Hmmm …
I assume that the A5 parts are symmetrical, the little centre hub protrudes equally on both sides.
Is the combined thickness of A5 + A19 + A5 pushing A8 and A7 away from each other?
Ai presume that the combined thickness would be a tad more than the thickness of the wheel rim just inside the “rubber” tread.
Running out of ideas …
I think I’ve tried it with both removed and the wheels flopped around. I may just end up glueing them all tight with no turning of the wheels because I tried to remove the hubs and the wheel spokes seemed like they would break if I tugged too hard. Not a good start for my first 1/16. Thanks for your time.
Did you try shuffling things around? Maybe the parts are handed?

If its the wheels holding the parts apart check the gap between the wheels and the arms and if its big enough try sanding or shaving the raised boss off the hubs (A5) I built well half built this a while back and cant remember if I had a similar issue or not.
Sanding/shaving the hubs will have minimal affect to the appearance as the offending area will be hidden behind the arm
Hope this helps and yes as Uncle Heavy says these kits can be unforgiving if you dont clean the nubs and stuff off.
Keith
Thanks Keith. Sounds like a good idea. I was going to try to pry the hubs off but then there is too much sway on the wheels and with a small track that would be a problem. Thanks everyone for your time.
I snipped the front hubs off and the wheels seem to line up now, so they should roll freely if I get them glued properly.
